Two of the six API 610 VS4 pumps are pour point depressant pumps which would possibly be 18m in size and the other four are methanol lift pumps which might be 10m long.
All of the pumps have PT100 temperature sensors which were designed and constructed along the size of the pumps to monitor the temperature of each bearing individually.
The 18m lengthy pumps incorporate a supporting system of brackets that Amarinth has designed which attaches each pump to its tank during set up ensuring that because the pump is lowered into the tank it stays perfectly aligned, reducing vibration and wear throughout operation.
Once assembled, the pumps had been independently witness examined and authorized by DNV at Amarinth’s facility in Rendlesham, UK. The pumps have been then disassembled into 3m segments and shipped to Singapore where the FPSO (floating production storage and offloading unit) is being built.
The pump delivery and set up had to align with the FPSO build schedule. Because of the size of the pumps, they needed to be installed into the vessel’s tanks via the deck before one other deck above the pumps might be constructed. The first phase was accomplished successfully over the Christmas interval with Amarinth’s Engineering Commissioning staff supporting the shopper with the set up and commissioning.
The FPSO will be positioned within the KG-DWN 98/2 area, approximately 22 km off the east coast of Kakinada, India. The vessel is designed to supply up to ninety 000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and have a 1.3-million-barrel storage facility. It shall be outfitted to deal with the monsoon circumstances prevalent at the field.
