Kenyan firm plans huge chilly chain facility in East Africa

เกจวัดแรงดันลม10bar and logistics service provider Cold Solutions, says it will make investments USD 70 million to assemble the largest chilly chain facility in East Africa to handle challenges that face transportation of perishable goods.
Cold Solution’s 15,000 sqm flagship facility in Tatu City Special Economic Zone in Nairobi will be the largest, most superior and efficient within the region. The cold chain facility is flexibly designed to cater for quite a few temperature ranges from +26 to -40 C and a number of product ranges, from fresh fruit and vegetables, to pharmaceuticals and vaccines, meats and poultry, and frozen foods.
Cold Solutions Kenya is a portfolio company of ARCH Cold Chain Solutions East Africa Fund, a personal equity fund advised by ARCH Emerging Markets Partners Limited (ARCH).
“Cold Solutions’ one-stop-shops are designed to permit companies to keep monitor of products in real-time and facilitate transportation throughout East Africa by way of temperature-controlled vehicles, both within the internal city or to long-haul destinations,” said Jared Irving, Managing Director, ARCH.

The United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization estimates that over 40% of meals in Sub-Saharan Africa perishes earlier than it reaches a consumer. This can be as high as 60% for recent produce in Sub-Saharan Africa.
