KSB completes enlargement of GIW’s Grovetown facility

KSB has announced the completion of its US$44 million multiphase enlargement of the GIW facility in Grovetown, Georgia, USA.

The first two phases of the enlargement have been permitted in 2013 in response to growing market demand for bigger tools. Since then, the Grovetown facility has accomplished upgrades, added tens of thousands of sq. feet to its foundry, elevated furnace capability, accomplished building on a distribution centre, and received approval for three further phases of improvement.
With the completion of the project, KSB has quadrupled its capability to mould castings over 20,000 lbs (9000 kg), elevated its most pouring output by up to sixty six,000 lbs (30,000 kg), lowered the number of required shot blast runs by 50%, added special cleaning stations for giant castings, applied new technology and effectivity solutions, and doubled employee locker room amenities.
KSB went ahead with the project’s completion, despite the Covid-19 pandemic and its economic fallout.
